Mom's "Best" Meat Loaf

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

1 lb. + ground Beef/Turkey
1 Egg, slightly beaten
1 1/2 tsp. Salt
1/2 c. Milk
1 1/2 slices of soft Bread, torn into small pieces (do not use dried bread crumbs)
1/4 tsp. each of Onion Salt, Pepper, and Garlic Powder
1 1/2 tsp. Worcestershire Sauce

Mix together all ingredients (don't over-mix as it gets tough). Bake uncovered in a greased loaf pan for 1 hour.

Goes wonderfully with baked potatoes or the Dill Potatoes recipe also included in this blog.

  1. This is called "Best" because of my husband. He hates meat loaf and I asked him just to try it when my mom made it one night. As we are all eating, he exclaims, "This is the best meat loaf I've ever had in my life ... it is way better than my mom's."
I thought my mom was going to die of happiness at that moment. She was thrilled by his response to it.
